Stardust by Neil Gaiman

(Format used for this read: Audiobook)

Another Neil Gaiman read…this man just NEVER disappoints me.

Here is a summary:

“An enchanting fairy tale by master storyteller Neil Gaiman, full of unexpected adventures, true love, whimsy, wonder, and plenty of magic.

Tristran Thorn will do anything to win the cold heart of beautiful Victoria Forester—even fetch her the star they watch fall from the night sky. But to do so, he must enter the unexplored lands on the other side of the ancient wall that gives their tiny village its name. Beyond that stone barrier, Tristran learns, lies Faerie…and the most exhilarating adventure of the young man’s life.”

Oh this was just magical fun to listen to…
Especially because the author read it.

And what I find so neat about the author also being the narrator of an audiobook is that you as a listener/reader actually hear the story as the author “heard” it as they wrote it.

I can’t help but love a story with magic and witches and talking animals and love and adventure….with a teensy bit of evil misdeeds (and also humor) going on alongside.

I adore how Neil Gaiman develops his characters and his storylines….he just always uses the most perfect words and descriptions.

I know this was made into a movie awhile ago..but I just don’t know if I want to watch it and have the magical-ness of these pages be tarnished…

Because I have yet to see a movie based on a book that was equal or better than how wonderful the book is.

(Well…except for a few of the Harry Potter’s…some of those kept their fantastical wonder in tact…)

I continue to ❤️ Neil Gaiman and look forward to my next read of his!
