Foretold by Stephanie Higgins

(Format used for this read: Print–paperback…given to me personally by the AUTHOR HERSELF!!!)

Yall my friend Stephanie DID IT AGAIN!

Just finished the second book in her YA series…and I think it was even more tremendous than the first!

(Here was my review on the first book, “Favored”: https://brainglitterwithdani.com/favored/ )

Here is a summary:

“In author Stephanie Higgins’s previous novel, Prince Dominic of Talero fell in love with Princess Marina of Devlin. Evil sorcerers and other enemies threatened to keep the two lovers apart, but good prevailed in the end. Now, Higgins takes you back to the two kingdoms to show you how hard it is to fight for your happily ever after.

Marina, now queen of Talero, is ecstatic to be expecting her first child with Dominic. However, complications with her pregnancy could have tragic consequences for the entire kingdom.

While Marina struggles with her powerful magic and abnormal pregnancy, her twin brother has his own challenges awaiting him on the throne of Devlin. Benjy seeks to improve his own magical abilities but soon discovers that the sorcery of Devlin all leads back to his enemy Pelgaro and the many secrets he left behind.

As Benjy grows closer to his new magical tutor, he discovers that some in his court are hiding deadly secrets. The destinies of Marina and Benjy are still entwined, and Marina’s salvation may lie directly in Benjy’s hands. The two and their allies have fought many battles, but they will now have to face the enemies closest to home.”

ACTION PACED and also full of magic (seriously this has kinda been a theme for me lately 🤣), suspense and romance….this YA fantasy is definitely one that is super hard to put down.

Definitely a “just one more chapter…” book that keeps you up well past your bedtime. (It’s not terribly long either so if you’re super dedicated or just an insomniac you could read in one night!)

With all good book series, the end leaves you excited to see what is next with these characters you know and have fallen in love with.

Steph, I’m totally a for real fan of yours…remember us little people when you become super crazy famous one day!

(And if you ever make movies for your books, I’m just saying I could be a phenomenal Marina on screen 🤣….or just a narrator for your audiobooks….I’m cool with either 🤣)
