Fitness for Every Body by Meg Boggs

(Format used for this read: Print–paperback)

From body-positive Instagram influencer and content creator Meg Boggs, an inclusive and empowering fitness and lifestyle guide to inspire readers of every shape and size.

For years, Meg Boggs believed the narrative told to her by society: she thought that as a plus-sized woman, she could never be fit; she could never be strong; she could never love exercise; she could never be enough. But when Meg became a mom, she decided to rethink her preconceived notions and embrace her body for what it is, not what diet culture said it should be.

In Fitness for Every Body, Meg shares her personal story and inspires you to celebrate your own body for all its capabilities. Featuring a dozen step-by-step, full-body workouts, this book is more than a workout guide or a training manual. It’s a reminder that you’re more than just your weight, that you are stronger than you believe, and that just because you might not be thin, doesn’t mean that you can’t be an athlete. Your body is capable of doing incredible things—you just have to let it.

Equally uplifting and enlightening, this body-positive fitness guide will inspire you to love your body no matter your size and to approach food and exercise in a way that benefits both mental and physical health and wellbeing.

This is a book I added to my shelf to not only educate me and encourage me in my personal life, but also in my professional life too.

I have been a group fitness instructor for YEARS and just this year have also become a personal trainer as well.

My mission as a fitness professional is to empower, encourage and educate each client to be their healthiest self….and that looks different for EVERY SINGLE PERSON.

Thinness DOES NOT equal fitness OR health, yall.

In fact, some of the smaller adults I have known have been some of the unhealthiest people…and in contrast, some of the larger adults I have known have been some of the fittest!

I strive hard to undo all the toxic narratives about fitness and health that have been pumped into my head by society over the years…not only is it important for my OWN life, but it is VITALLY important for the way I interact with my clients/students and THEIR lives.

(If you want to know all my specific beliefs in regards to health & fitness, you can peek at them here:

This book is an EXCELLENT resource. It’s half instruction manual and half inspiration manual.

Not only does it have training plans and exercise how to’s for many levels (with PICTURES!), it also tells the author’s personal story. She shares her own journey with fitness but also with body acceptance and self worth. She includes heart touching poetry and inspiring art work in each chapter too which I friggin’ ADORED!

Here are a few pics and quotes from the pages within:

“Your body is an instrument, not an ornament.”

“Changing the narrative around plus size bodies starts by changing the narrative that we tell ourselves.”

“Feeling proud doesn’t come after you reach the destination. Feeling proud happens when you open your heart to the possibility of applauding the step you’re on today. Allow yourself to focus on your health without trying to shrink your body.”

“It can be soul cleansing to measure your progress through what your body can do rather than how your body is admired.”

All the toxic books that focus on elimination diets or counting every single move made/calorie consumed or body measurements that fit into the “right” chart need to be thrown in the damn trash and we need more books like THIS on our shelves!

Not only is this a great learning resource in regards to fitness and health for all people and all bodies, but it also provides wonderful inspiration and encouragement too.
