(Format for this read: Audiobook)

I read the first book in this series months ago and have been on the library wait list for the second…I was so glad when it came thru during the holiday chaos and craziness!

(You can read my review of the first book here:

Definitely a good entertaining escape.

Here is the official summary:

“From the bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians (Now a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE) comes a deliciously fun story of family, fortune, and fame in Mainland China.

Book Two of the Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy

It’s the eve of Rachel Chu’s wedding, and she should be over the moon. She has a flawless Asscher-cut diamond, a wedding dress she loves, and a fiancé willing to thwart his meddling relatives and give up one of the biggest fortunes in Asia in order to marry her. Still, Rachel mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won’t be there to walk her down the aisle.

Then a chance accident reveals his identity. Suddenly, Rachel is drawn into a dizzying world of Shanghai splendor, a world where people attend church in a penthouse, where exotic cars race down the boulevard, and where people aren’t just crazy rich … they’re China rich.”

This book was just as good as the first one….
Snarky, fun, satirical, over the top yet also heartwarming and emotional at parts.

Kinda like watching a good soap opera or WB series 🤣

This book, just like the first one, also educated me about various Chinese & other Asian cultures and family dynamics.

(I do think this one pulled at my heartstrings A LOT MORE than the first due to Rachel’s entire family storyline this go round)

A beach type of read in the winter that is ALSO educational….yes please!

Definitely two thumbs up for me for my first review of the year.
